Partnering with ARITA
This year Litigation Lending was honored to be given the opportunity to partner with ARITA as the Conference National Platinum Partner. Litigation Lending and ARITA have been working together on conference events for a number of years and are excited to be extending that relationship to the National Platinum Partnership.
The Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association (ARITA) represents practitioners and other associated professionals who specialise in the fields of restructuring, insolvency and turnaround. In growing our involvement in the insolvency industry, partnering with ARITA was a logical next step towards growth and becoming a leader in this sector. We are proud to have been given this opportunity and look forward to working on conferences and events with ARITA for years to come.
Starting off 2018 the right way, Litigation Lending have made a donation to the organisation Mookai Rosie, a group that houses women from around Cape York communities in Cairns while they receive medical treatment.
Since Rosie's earlier inception in 1983 Mookai Rosie Bi-Bayan has worked hard to provide a culturally sensitive service that helps to improve the health status and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, particularly that of women and children.
As there are no birthing facilities in Remote Cape York and Western Queensland pregnant women must come to Cairns around four to six weeks before the birth of their baby.
Mookai Rosie Bi-Bayan is in a position to have a major and critical influence on the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Developing nutrition, women’s reproductive health, pre and post natal care, support and environmental health.
Mookai Rosie has a strong policy of of Healthy living and upholds these through nutritional diets provided to clients during the course of their stay.

Supporting PIAC's Public Interest Litigation
Litigation Lending has combined forces with Public Interest Advocacy Centre (PIAC), to support their public interest litigation.
The Adverse Costs Order Guarantee Fund was established by PIAC last year to ensure public interest cases can go ahead in circumstances where the risk of an adverse costs order would discourage clients from proceeding with their case. So far $120,000 has been raised, with Litigation Lending in good company among Vannin, Woodsford and Investor Claim Partner who have also contributed to the fund.
Under the scheme, clients will be indemnified so that they can go ahead with their cases without having to risk their assets or income.
‘It’s great to see the development of a culture of support for social justice among litigation funders, and we congratulate our project partners on leading the way.’ said PIAC CEO, Jonathon Hunyor. (pictured right with Senior Litigation Manager Kim May) Public interest litigation to be considered by the fund will include human rights, discrimination and police accountability cases.
We look forward to a bright and promising future with PIAC over the years to come.
In June 2017, Litigation Lending Services donated a sports scholarship to the Special Olympics Sports Program, enabling one deserving athlete to join the Special Olympics Australia and enjoying weekly sports participation.
Thomas Bayley, the winner of this scholarship, described how valuable this contribution is to them. Pictured is Thomas playing the drums. Thomas has joined a club in Southern Tasmania, where he will be playing a mix of Basketball, swimming and tennis.
We look forward to continuing our relationship with the Special Olympics Sports Program in 2018.
Salvation Army StreetLevel Mission: Corporate Day of Giving - May 2017
Litigation Lending and Russells Lawyers joined up again for another successful day, giving back to our community. Our teams helped out in the kitchen, served food during the Community Lunch, cleaned and sorted the Salvation Army store on Albion street, and also helped to organise their welfare food store.
Both Litigation Lending and Russells Lawyers were proud to be given this fantastic opportunity again from the team at StreetLevel and Salvation Army. We hope to continue this tradition, and thank the Salvation Army for the invitation to attend.
Here we have Cheryl West, Kylie May, Steven Taylor, Kim May and Masi Zaki from both Litigation Lending and Russells Lawyers, helping out to prepare the food for the Community Lunch, held every Thursday at StreetLevel Mission. We encourage all members of the community to head down and help out the team from StreetLevel and Salvation Army in any way you can.
